Course Overview

This three-day, bootcamp-style intensive provides a foundational yet comprehensive exploration of the dual pillars of the Palantir ecosystem: Data Engineering and Ontology Design. Instruction is led by an expert and supported by guided, step-by-step demonstrations and walkthroughs conducted within a live Palantir and AIP instance.

The curriculum is designed to transform raw, siloed data into a dynamic, object-oriented digital twin. You will follow each guided walkthrough using your own Palantir environment, applying the same technical steps to bridge the gap between backend data integration and frontend operational utility.

Technical Requirement: Access to a Palantir system is not provided as part of this course. Participants are expected to utilize their own organizational environment to complete all hands-on activities and exercises.

The primary mission of this program is to equip learners with the skills to build the entire backbone of a Palantir solution. Key objectives include:

Comprehensive Training Phase Model

Phase 1: Data Integration & Pipeline Engineering

The first phase focuses on the “plumbing” required to move data into Foundry and prepare it for the Ontology.

• Ingestion Strategies: Connecting diverse data sources, including CSV files and live API streams, with full lineage tracking.
• Transformation Logic: Utilizing Code Repositories (SQL/Python) and the Visual Pipeline Builder to clean and structure raw data.
• Data Health & Monitoring: Implementing automated data quality checks (nulls, duplicates, ranges) and pipeline performance monitoring.

Phase 2: Ontology Design & Semantic Modeling

Phase 2 shifts the focus from technical tables to the creation of a business-centric digital twin.

• Object Type Engineering: Defining the “nouns” of the business (e.g., Equipment, Orders, Customers) and configuring their properties.
• Relationship Mapping: Establishing Link Types to represent how entities interact (e.g., Customer “placed” Order).
• Ontology Synchronization: Mapping the cleaned datasets from Phase 1 to the defined Object Types to hydrate the Ontology with live data.

Phase 3: Validation, Analytics & AIP Readiness

The final phase ensures the Ontology is functional, accurate, and ready for advanced AI orchestration.

• Semantic Validation: Utilizing Object Explorer and Contour to verify that the Ontology accurately represents real-world operational logic.
• Analytic Dashboarding: Engineering interactive dashboards to visualize the health and metrics of the newly created objects.
